Peculiarities of text composition & genre features:

In the Hawthorne Legacy trilogy, Jennifer Lynn Barnes uses contemporary speech and type of sentence construction to narrate the story. We observe the frequent use of youth slang and colloquial words.

The type of narration is simple: due to the uncomplicated construction of the text (most often the author uses dialogues) the works are read easily and simply.

Also in the text we observe the prevalence of phraseologisms, hyperboles, metaphors and comparisons. This adds colorfulness to the narrative, makes it bright and interesting.
In the construction of sentences the author also tries to use simple constructions (we observe the prevalence of non-union sentences and parallelism, repetition of the same words).
To immerse the reader in the story, the author uses professionalisms inherent in the field of «Economics». Throughout all three books, the heroine solves the mysteries left behind by an unknown billionaire: from family secrets to horrific crimes.

The compositional structure of all three parts of this story is built on the following stages:
1. The beginning (plot twist): the main characters encounter a mystery left by a dead billionaire, Tobias Hawthorne;
2. Plot development: the protagonists take action to solve the puzzle, to find out the secrets hidden behind its solution;
3. Climax. The characters learn the secrets of their family and the secrets of their past;
4. The conclusion of the narrative. A new mystery emerges that the characters must solve in the next part of the story.
Extra:

This trilogy is an amazing contemporary work that combines both a detective story and a line of first love. It is interesting to read for people of all ages.
But despite the lightness of the narrative itself, the books touch on very serious and interesting topics for reasoning.
