Peculiarities of text composition & genre features:

As in the rest of Agatha Christie's works, the narrative in this novel is linear, step by step we learn about the murder, it is investigated and then solved. It is noteworthy that the protagonist Miss Marple does not appear that often in the novel, most of the action takes place without her participation, but she appears in all the important moments for the plot twist.
Genre features:

As is typical for the detective genre, there is a crime, one detective and one murderer. The cast of characters is traditional, the number of suspects is limited. Another feature is the ordinariness of the environment: the action takes place not in a fictional, but in the real world, among ordinary people. All the information is revealed at the end of the book, readers are not left without answers.
